Over 7,000 Keralites in Oman register on government website to return home

In just 12 hours, around 7,600 Keralities in Oman have registered on the Norka-roots website to return home in the wake of coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

The development comes after reports of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) planning to bring back stranded Indians emerged.

According to media reports, 100,000 Kerala expats mostly from various Middle East countries, including Oman have already registered through the website launched by Norka roots, the official body of the diaspora.

The registration, according to officials, is done to collect the details for the government to facilitate services including quarantine to the returning expats.
