Chief Minister K Palaniswami today said in a press meeeting the four-day total shutdown in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore Corporation limits ending by today will not be extended.
Super market and provisional shops to be open till 5 p.m. in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai tomorrow which is an additional 4 hours from the usual. As usual all the online service providers like Swiggy, zomato and dunzo will function as-usual timing.
Amidst rising Covid-19 cases in the state, Chief Minister K Palaniswami had on April 24 announced a complete shutdown from Sunday (April 26) in Chennai which is ending today.
EPS informed the complete lockdown will not be extended from tomorrow and usual lock down should be followed up.
The government urged the people to strictly follow social distancing while buying the essential items, besides asking them to remain patient and calm during shopping.
CM urged people not to panic on buying essential and requested to maintain social distance and compulsorily mask should be used while on shopping or on move.
